Islamic homeschooling, shaped by your world.

An AI-powered homeschool operating system combining curriculum planning, lesson delivery, assessment, and parent governance with genuine Islamic and cultural localization. Six personas — parent, student, mentor, partner, reviewer, and admin — run on a live, shipped application today.

The problem

Millions of Muslim families — especially across Pakistan and the diaspora — homeschool without a structured digital curriculum. Existing edtech is built Western-first: little Urdu or Arabic support, and Islamic studies treated as an add-on rather than a first-class part of the school week. Families rebuild schedules from scratch each term, and those moving between curriculum boards (BISE, Cambridge, IB, UK frameworks) lose continuity entirely.

The product

Ilmiyat is a homeschool operating system, not a content library: parents set the vision, AI generates and adjusts study plans in natural language, students follow a guided and gamified path, and mentors extend reach through live sessions. Quran/Hifz, Fiqh, and Seerah are woven into the academic timetable rather than living in a separate silo, and lessons adapt to region, language (English, Urdu, Arabic, Roman Urdu), and Islamic-values depth rather than defaulting to a Western frame.

Available today

A live React + Firebase application at ilmiyat.com/app serves all six personas with working core flows:

  • AI-generated curriculum plans with conversational adjustment — parents refine a plan in plain language and the system regenerates it.
  • A student dashboard with lessons, a Quran/Hifz tracker, gamification, and an AI tutor ("Noor") whose prompt assembly runs server-side specifically so a student can't bypass parent-set governance rules.
  • Mentor session management, and a partner onboarding flow covering eight experience types (tours, events, transport, food, media, sponsors, government and community organizations).
  • A self-service reviewer workflow — reviewers claim one curriculum concept at a time (lesson, assessments, and worksheets together), and completing a review unlocks a 25-slot referral book with a 25% first-year discount for referees and 25% cashback for the reviewer.
  • A full admin console for verification queues, curriculum operations, and an audit log, plus a production-grade WebRTC video layer (a self-hosted TURN server issuing short-lived signed credentials per call) and a real Stripe webhook with signature verification for referral cashback.

Upcoming features

Planned next, in priority order:

  • Worksheet ingestion — wiring the roughly 1,280 authored worksheets into the live assessment taker in place of the current heuristic item generator.
  • Curriculum switching — connecting the 825-node concept graph into the planner to power delta-mapping when a family moves between curriculum boards.
  • Billing — Stripe Checkout and Customer Portal with tier enforcement and auto-applied referral coupons.
  • A grading pipeline (blueprint → instance → submission → evaluation) with a parent review queue.
  • Offline lesson sync for low-connectivity regions, and an institution/co-op pricing tier with cohort analytics.

Who it's for

  • Homeschooling families wanting a structured, culturally-aligned curriculum instead of a patchwork of PDFs and spreadsheets.
  • Diaspora families bridging home-country and international standards.
  • Learning communities and co-ops evaluating a shared platform.
  • Mentors and reviewers who want to extend their expertise into the curriculum itself.

Platform and stage

React + Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions) client and backend, Gemini for planning and tutoring, a self-hosted TURN server for video. Stage: MVP Live at ilmiyat.com — the core planning, teaching, and governance loops are real and running; curriculum breadth, billing, and assessment depth are still catching up to the full product vision described here.
