Mindiology

The problem

Traditional schooling and most edtech group children by age and score them by percentage. A 12-year-old can be a confident builder in math and a beginner in literary analysis — grade bands hide both truths, and "75% in Math" describes nothing about what to teach next. In Pakistan, where Mindiology's first market sits, school fees and per-subject tuition push $50–75/month for families who report their child's actual needs don't match the curriculum in front of them.

The concept

Mindiology asks "what can you do?" instead of "what's your score?" Each subject is organized into three blocks (Foundation → Intermediate → Advanced), and each block into five competency stages — Starter, Explorer, Builder, Creator, Master. A student advances on demonstrated mastery, not calendar time, and can sit at different stages in math, science, and English simultaneously. Content is designed around Pakistani and global cultural context rather than a Western default — local examples, Islamic integration modules, and curriculum blended from IB, Cambridge, Oxford, and Punjab Board standards.

How the platform is designed to work

Adaptive placement — a 15–25 question per-subject assessment builds an initial competency profile.
Personalized learning path — a week-by-week plan with objectives, activities, and parent conversation starters, adjusted by engagement, comprehension, and mastery signals.
Cross-subject projects — integrated modules (e.g. a water-crisis or cricket-analytics project) at the Builder stage that pull math, science, and language together.
Parent partnership dashboard — narrative progress and weekly highlights instead of a grade report, designed so a parent doesn't need to be a subject expert to guide the child.
Gamified student experience — a companion character, streaks, and a visual progress map.

Working prototype

A React + Supabase + Gemini prototype has been built end to end — parent onboarding, an AI-driven plan-adjustment conversation, a student dashboard with PIN login, and an admin console with real analytics charting — and demonstrated internally, though it has not shipped to the public app store or web client. The system prompt driving curriculum generation already encodes detailed, grade-specific Pakistan National Curriculum sequences for math, English, and Urdu.

Planned for the path from validated prototype to public launch:

Public deployment of the student and parent applications (currently demonstrated, not yet live for families).
Adaptive question bank expansion from an initial 270+ items toward 1,000+.
Report-card OCR conversion and Quranic Studies curriculum ingestion.
Production gamification loop wired to real usage rather than the prototype's local demo state.
Institutional/white-label licensing for schools and NGOs.

Platform and stage

React 19 + Vite + TypeScript client, Supabase (Postgres + Auth + RLS), Gemini for curriculum generation. Stage: Validated — the curriculum design, business case, and a working prototype exist; the public-facing learning platform has not yet launched.
